@burgiliciousdefLate again from me. #StokeCity's last match ended in the #Pottersbeing defeated 1-0 to promotion pushing #Luton. The game for the most part seemed even between the two sides. Stoke fall to 19th place in the table after this defeat, 5 points off the relegation zone. They have now only taken 3 points from a possible 15 in their last 5 league games.

The #Pottershad made 3 new loan signings in the last two weeks. The first is Bersant Celina from #Dijon. The midfield/wing player joins for the second half of the 2022/23 season. Celina started his career with #ManchesterCityand #Swanseabefore his most recent move to Dijon. Even with this move however, the #Kosvointernational is still being sent out on loan for the third time since his arrival. He previously was on loan with Turkish side #Kasimpaşaat the beginning of this season. He made his debut with Stoke over the weekend in their #FACupwin

The second pre #deadlinedaymove was for #Wolverhamptoncentre half/ right back Ki-Jana Hoever. The #Netherlandsunder 21 national team player started his career with #Liverpoolbefore a move to #Wolvesin 2020. He has made 20 appearances for the #premierleagueclub but spent the firs half of this season on loan at #PSVbefore being recalled and sent to Stoke.

The third loan before deadline day was for goalkeeper Matija Šarkić. The 25 year old has been with Premier League clubs #AstonVillaand Wolverhampton (who he is being loaned from) since 2017 but is yet to make a league apperance. He has been loaned out 6 times before ending up at Stoke despite making 6 appearances for the #Montenegronational team. He will be pushing to be the starting goalkeeper with Jack Bonham as his main competition.

Over the weekend both Hoever (off the bench) and Celina (started) made their debutes while Šarkić had to wait due to being cup tied to another club. They were part of Stoke's 4th round #FACupwin over #Stevenage.

The final piece of news before the final day of the transfer window is that Stoke youth player Tom Sparrow has made a loan out to non league side #HamiltonAcademicalfor first team experience.

@burgiliciousdef#StokeCitymove onto the 5th round of the #FACup! The #Pottersdefeat #Stevenagebehind a Jacob Brown 3rd minute goal, a beautiful 73rd minute curling outside the box goal from Josh Laurent, and finally an 80th minute penalty kick from Lewis Baker.

Stoke will find out their next cup opponent on Monday January 30th.

New signing Bersant Celina comes straight in for his Stoke debut. Fit-again Dujon Sterling starts his first game since November 5 at right-back, with Josh Tymon on the left and Connor Taylor (already substituted by Phil Jagielka due to an injury) and Ben Wilmot, a former Stevenage player whose dad Richard also played for Stevenage, in the middle. Jack Bonham keeps his place in goal. Josh Laurent is named captain at the end of a week which started with a star turn against his former club #Reading.
